Diamond Sports club elated for Bishoo
Published: Tue, 2011-03-22 23:30
Devendra Bishoo.
Franklyn and Errol Diamond United Sports Club is very happy with the fact that their regular overseas player Devendra Bishoo has made it unto the West Indies Cricket team. President of the club councillor Brian Julien said Bishoo helped to develop his game at the Diamond Village team and everyone at the club was proud that he had gone on to make the West Indies team. “We are all very proud of the achievement of Bishoo. The young man came to Trinidad and played at our club and it fills us with so much pride that he has made it unto the West Indies cricket team.” Currently Bishoo’s fellow countryman Jonathan Foo is at Diamond United plying his trade. According to Julien the Guyanese players have brought a lot to the club.
“Our players coming from Guyana have brought a lot to our club and Bishoo was an example in that aspect. When they come and play with us, they bring a level of professionalism that lifts the other members of the club. Bishoo always had that ambition, that hunger to play for the West Indies cricket team and we has achieved just that.” Bishoo made his debut for the West Indies against England, claiming 3/37 in their World Cup clash.

Please allow me the privilege to send my heartiest congratulations and best wishes to my friend, Devindra Bishoo, on his selection to the West Indies cricket team and also on his fine performances so far.
Having played against him locally, he always displayed high-level performances when he represented Diamond Sports Club at the local National League.
Even though we were opponents on the cricket field, we became good friends off the field. He truly represents a gentleman in the gentleman's game of cricket.
I hope his stay is permanent so that he is given enough time to build an exciting international career in cricket. Be warned—he is also a very good batsman.
The only factor to stop Bishoo's progress now is the outrageous, insular, "up and down the islands" selection policies prevalent in West Indies cricket right now.
Look at what they did to Lendl Simmons by not selecting him for the World Cup. Now he is showing them what he can do.
When you take a close forensic look, it becomes quite evident that only Guyanese and Trinidadians are being affected by the continuous, unchecked and definitely ad hoc hit-and-hope selection policies of the West Indies Cricket Board.
I say drop the selectors. The time has come for Trinidad and Guyana to form an allegiance, write to the ICC and defect now. This is the only foreseeable solution to save West Indies cricket.

WILL BISHOO MAKE JALA & ALL WI FANS PROUD IN THE 2ND INNINGS
Pakistan 80/3
Bishoo: 10-4-19-0
Looks like Lil Bravo may have gifted this test match to Pakistan when he dropped Shafiq in the slips off Rampaul.----the Pakis would have been 6/4 had Lil Bravo taken that easy catch.
Hopefully Bishoo will bail out Lil Bravo.
Bishoo has looked harmless in the 2nd innings thus far.

yu kow horse racing. yu win arready! i hear yu boast about winning.
well ah rookie usually bounces after his first win. if he is any good he bounces for a while den bounces back, often very quickly.
dat is why it made no sense going in without edwards. the captain if he knew how to handicap wud never have bowled bishoo so much.
but he undah presshah...feel he have to win and de nly man he have to tun' to is Bish. he not thinking straight.
this is like back in the days when deh used to pick white captains jess because they were white.
deh were usually stupid white men.
today deh picking sammy jess because he is st lucian. and while not quite dotish smart is harldy sammys' bywaord

P-R-E-S-S-U-R-E!!!
He desperately wants to get a wicket---trying too hard---he has been bowling too quick and too short.
You're right!
I-N-E-X-P-E-R-I-E-N-C-E!!!
In the 1st innings he looked like he could take a wicket nearly every over he bowled.
In the 2nd innings---he looks HARMLESS
