5 for 29 Sammy Rules! He brought the team to victory in his first test match. The team effort must also be acknowledged starting with Shivs anchor which enabled much need runs to be gained in our second inning. Combine this Ramp's bowling attack Bishoo's energy etc etc it was truly a team effort which I would like to see repeated next match. Rally round de West Indies!

The pitch was helpful to both the Pakistani and West Indies bowlers---the paki bowlers took 20 wickets and the WI bowlers took 20 wickets.
The difference in the match was the WI batsmen coped slightly better than the Paki batsmen on the bowler friendly wicket.
And that 48 runs 10th wicket partnership between Shiv and Bishoo in the 2nd innings was the difference---Pak lost by 40 runs.
Listen, over the last 8 years the West Indies have been winning at most 1 test per calendar year---they have just filled their 2011 quota---1 test win.
Can the West Indies win a 2nd test in 2011 ?
If they do so, then we can all start talking about slight progress.

Fair enough, this is what I was digging for but guess I was rushing it after the big win.

So, lets see how WI carry on from here...
When was the last time, West Indies won back to back Tests?

Hey, as Fazeer says in this excellent article, a win is a win....

Yet in the midst of all these complex and disparate interest groups, there will be a few simple souls who are just happy that they can savour a victory by their West Indies team. They know it represents no light at the end of the tunnel, no start of a turnaround, no new dawn, notwithstanding the tripe being uttered by those who should know better. For them, a win is a win, and in this protracted guava season, it will more than suffice, even if so many others around them are vex like hell.
so its just a win in a long guava season?

There is no guarantee that it will bear next season ...
So the WIN is not a signal for things to come?
