But if Cricket Australia aren't offering a contract to Warner because he's a 20/20 specialist, why should the WICB offer one to Pollard when he's currently doing the same?
I don't see any indication that Pollard wants to play anything other than 20/20 cricket right now....
Right now, he deserves to be in the WI 20/20 side - nothing more. Hopefully, some time in the future he will take 50-overs and the longer form more seriously. Until that time, the WIndies should drop him from their ODI side.

there is BIG a difference between OZ and WI...
Polly is an automatic pick for WI T20 and ODI team ....but he doh have a contract what's up with that?
OZ have a big pool of talented players where they have to compete but that is not the case in Windies..

wat happen..allyuh doh like my point of view over on the dacvis thread?
how does palyign with the westindies A team better for Pollards improvement than playing with somerset?
and if the wicb wants Poll;ard on notice den give him a contract!
but because he is in some demand for T20 deh dont need to give him a contract as he capn play for big money, develop himself among real professionals and be available if called upon!
or the same thng can happen if given a contract. the wicb should have a contract that allows for the opt out without pay so that players can go earn some money while still retained.
that way westindies benefits from the exposure of players at the top level to solid experience and improvement while blooding others at the A team level.
to me it is a win win situation that the uter peevishness of the wicb and mikesiva missing altogether.
so what if Pollards is not the best at ODI as a batsman now? he may or may not develop in time but so what. we hope he does and playing for soemerest this season is one sure way to get him better exposure among profesional players who play for a living. they must delover most everyday or lose their livelihood.
thats what Polly and all the rest need...tose demanding situations in which yu live by production or go home...if one remains for you if you cant pay for it.
at ODI and T20 Pollard is very useful as brilliant fieldsman and very useful bowler..as well as batsman!
some people are way to punitive...never going with the flow...never using lifelong experience to help sort things out. there was and is no damm need for what has happened. no one loses anything by it. why mikesiva and the wicb making noise is beyond me!

what the westindies crying about loyalty? what freaking loyalty? nutten is built on loyalty save that loyalty is all the way around.
to be loyal to westindies cricket run by an entity like the wicb at this time in its history is to be absolutely perverse, ridiculous. whatever healthy concern for the players now exhibited by the wicb has had to be wrung out of them by dint of serious industrial action.
Pollard must look after himself and in this situation here he has done absolutely nothing untoward. it results as I said from wicb peevishness, cloaked in westindian loyalty that they have no claim to.
Pollard has not been disloyal to the westindies nor to the wicb by playing for somerset. in this issue as in so much else, the wicb is incompetent, stupid and blind to the real possibilites, positive and useful, expansionary, in the situation
