Chris Gayle recently living it largely injured ever so often
PS ... and let it be known that there is no rumour about which to query truth quotient, that Chris has pulled out on account of being stricken with anxiety over the lurid headlines and ill-informed opinion that a particular poster on the site was going to be moved to utter if it proved to be more Fayle than Gayle. Good.
Alas, Chris Gayle living it largely injured ever so often and so will contribute 0 to anyone's 2014 Windies Regional Super50 fantasy score on windiesfans.com.

Chris Gayle to score a large T20 something against Ireland?

Ireland tour of West Indies, 1st T20I: West Indies v Ireland at Kingston, Feb 19, 2014
Ahead of this game, Renaldo Metadeen sportswriter and social media manager for ESPN Caribbean, penned an article from which we can glean that
Gayle hopes to find right combination with (Dwayne) Smith. Having won the toss West Indies elected to bat. With 20 minutes to go till game starts we will soon see how they combine. imho West Indies have gambled with this team selection. Game on.
I have a feeling that this one is worth a ball-by-ball following and though am feeling a bit beamish, i mean queasy, ahead of the first ball being bowled I do hope that windies intention to create lots of scoreboard pressure will be realised. Lawd Gayle hit a six fourth ball....
and with the score on 31 Smith is out.
observes that the fall of the first windian wicket is an SSS affair: Smith c Sorensen b Stirling.

Counts for nothing on this topic Bally cos is I run t'ings round here so I repeat: Chris Gayle to score a large T20 something against Ireland? Emphatically NO ... in the first game.
Anyway talking about stats of an inconsequential nature, it has been observed that this topic has now achieved more views, 8783, than Chris Gayle has scored ODI runs, 8743
I done tell allyuh that you are completely mad however it is just a forty lead at the moment so I hafi knuckle down and spout more garbage because i know Chris will be even more determined to show that not only can he live it large but can also rise once more as the Don-A-Gorgon with bat in hand. Come on Chris

Like ah Don....Having fun, Chris? Gayle might be missing the cricket but he's not too worried
Like he is looking at alternatives to relax the stiffness from his back or what? lol Gayle was ruled out of the ODI series due to a stiff

"Chris will be back," Gibson said. "That will make a huge difference to our approach and how other teams approach us. Chris facing this spin might be a little bit different. He will be in Barbados in the next couple of days getting ready for the T20. All the reports suggest he should be ready. There's been some pretty average batting over the course of the two games. We got out of jail in the first game with Darren Sammy and Dwayne Bravo putting on 100 in 7 overs at the end, but that's not going to happen every day. We need to play better at the top of the order. We played the spin quite well at the World T20 in Sri Lanka two years ago and we know we can play it better than this. We just have to go out and do it. We've got Saqlain Mushtaq in our coaching team and our guys face him in the nets. And if you can play Saqlain, you should be able to handle Joe Root a little bit better. James Tredwell is the main spinner and he hasn't had a lot of wickets. He's bowled tight but he's not spun us out. To be losing wickets at the top of the order to Root and Moeen Ali, well, that hurts a little bit. On the first day, we never expected Root to open the bowling and bowl tight the way he did. So we had a good meeting and discussed it. But to come back and the same thing to happen again in the second game is disappointing for sure."

Gibson admits that the current top four can't play spin, that he can't understand why they can't, since they face Saqlain in the nets....
He can't wait for Gayle to return, so that he can hit Root out of the attack.
