9.30 am And it looks the players will have to continue their wait to get on to the field. It's drizzling at the moment, and the start of play will be significantly delayed. It is heavily overcast, and the scene at the Premadasa looks grey and grim, as it has for most of the past four days.

Kumar Sangakkara: "Not enough time to do anything on the final day. it was a tough decision to bat first, we knew it would be difficult for about four hours, it paid off as we went past 350. it was a tough hundred for me, the wicket was slow, I am pretty satisfied as playing strokes was difficult. Kula was top class, bowled tight lines. Suranga got the prize wicket of Gayle, he needs a bit more control, and he'll learn as he goes along. Brownie points don't mean anything, only a win matters. Boys are keyed up for the final Test." Sanga is also the Man of the Match for his big first-innings hundred.

Darren Sammy:
"If we look at the series, it is still 0-0, we have everything to play for. Darren, Roach, Baugh all played well. Baugh showed he could get a big score. He has matured more. The runs in this game came from different people, we have some areas to work on before the third Test. It's been a long time since we went into the final Test 0-0, and the players are looking forward to it."

Sri Lanka took the five remaining West Indies wickets quickly today, and then declared soon to give them a target of 202 in 22 overs. Light allowed only half of those overs to be bowled, and during that time, the Sri Lankan spinners had the West Indies top order in trouble, taking out the openers
to my mind this is the key to the remainder of the series...22 for 2 second time around. and the Lankans know. that is what they were searching for all the time...a lil bit of time to humiliate/intimidate the westindies by explpoiting their weakness...spin.

they believe that westindies batting order is weak, that once yu get past #4 its all over for that team. they appear to believe, like how they used to beat england no matter what they can do the same to this westindies team.

and I believe they can do it too given any window of opportunity at all. which is why even on the last day..were there a full days play... westindies would have lost this test match, or end up struggling hard to save it.

next test sammy must win the toss and bat first no matter what. he must seek to avoid a last day on a wearing wicket against Lanka spin! as it is no matter what the conditions westindies will have trouble with the spin. if the wicket helps in any way we have no chance at all.

{well...at least Baugh scored, proving my expectation of his failure wrong..this time...though I wont believe in him as a useful contributor to the batting until he is well into a level of consistently that proves his worth beyond doubt. to say that I dont trust Baugh who has so far been a considerable and consistent fool on the field is understating the case}
