Am NOT looking for a fight, nor am i seeking to downplay Bravo's accomplishments without due regard to the numbers that he has put up in the game thus far. As i see things chances are that for the immediate future Bravo is going to be playing in a weaker batting lineup than many of the WI batsmen who achieved greatness. Consequently, the requirement for him to look and perform as a batsman capable of delivering on his undoubted potential will be what some of us are now looking forward to seeing - for the WI to advance.

Mentally, his game has not come on as much as one would have hoped; but yet still he averages 46.77; not at all mediocre, but in a team that is still inconsistent at 1 and 2 from a team perspective more is required of him and many others.

I agree he now needs to start getting some tons at home and in other parts of the world, but he's only 24, once he breaks that duck i can't see him looking back, i'd love to see him go back to county cricket in the off season and gain more experience because after his last spell there his game did seem to go up a level and he ended up getting his first ton.

I believe averages tell a lot more than half the story...maybe three-quarters of the story. But averages after only a half a dozen matches are inconclusive. Players who have a good average after six or so matches only tell us that they've had a good start in limited conditions. That was the case with Kirk, who's only no resurrecting his career, and right now I think Lil Bravo is at a similar crossroads - he can either progress, like Shiv did at a similar stage in his career, or he can regress, as Kirk did....

Given that we're only playing a small number of Tests this year, that question won't be answered any time soon. WRT Powell, he's had a good return to the team, and that's good, but he hasn't cemented his place in the side yet. The real test for Powell will be when he plays Tests against Pakistan in the summer, and in New Zealand against the seaming ball in cold, wet conditions at the end of the year. That's when we will see what he's really made of....

Nah, class is class and everyone can see Darren has that, his 80 odd in the recent ODI's tell me that he's finally getting used to conditions outside of the Caribbean and Asia, and once he's fully comfortable what would he have to fear? he'll gain that with experience and push on imo.

LOL thats what you're wishing old boy!! , but the fact is HE'S OUR BEST OPENER RIGHT NOW, and the stats support that, so if his postion is cemented then lord knows what fayle's "position" is right now!! .
