The point I'm making Bally is that free agency is a slippery slope for the future of Test cricket.

The whole point of the NOC's was to curb and/or eliminate the idea of players bypassing playing for their respective countries and choosing foreign domestic T20 instead. Bravo and Pollard have said, and have demonstrated by their actions, that they are not committed to West Indies cricket and would rather pursue foreign domenstic T20. They have conned everyone by saying that they will still make themselves available for selection - but why would I want to watch these cherry picking mercenaries playing for West Indies when I know fully well that they don't have West Indies cricket at heart - and I'll always question whether they're giving their total best when playing for West Indies since they would be playing for "little" pay by comparison to their IPL and Big Bash teams?

If players start choosing the free agancy route then the regional boards (ECB, WICB, CA etc.) will no longer invest in the development of young players in their respective countries as it will not make financial sense. When that happens then the game itself is threatened.

I as a fan certaintly don't want a team of cherry picking mercenaries playing for West Indies whenever they feel like it - I want players who take pride in playing for the West Indies and who's first priority is to that purpose.

The only solution as I see now is for the WICB not to select either Bravo or Pollard and so send a strong message to future free agents. You mek yuh bed now lie down pon it. 8-)

Snoop...I hear what you saying but....those good ole days might be gone...

what is West Indian Pride? all the islands/countries are independent now (30-40 yr ag0)...so you don't have that West Indian togetherness like before. The younger generation don't have a clue what it is.

Guyanese getting kicked out of Barbados
Guyanese getting reported from Trinidad
Barbados thieving Tobago flying fish...etc

All you have is national pride...otherwise to that anything goes...

Now these guys want to be free agents that is fine. Its up to WICB to deal with this ...but the problem is WI lacks good leadership. so every move they make they stumbling....

Its hard to measure commitment. If the players didn't have other options, they would done sign the damn third rate contract. But when panditji's bros pushing these hefty first rate contracts...greed steps in :D

It's great to have options in life bro. But when you make your choice and exercise your option you have to live by it.

I have no problem with these guys chosing the option they think is best for them but spare me the facking hypocrisy by saying you're committed to West Indies when you've clearly stated in the recent past it was number 3 in the pecking order.

Again, I would not select Bravo to tour Sri Lanka. Let him stay at home and him and Pollard can practice their T20 game to their hearts delight cause that's all they'll be playing in the near future.

Let's see what Butts and co...dump on us. It will be interesting to see what Gayle does and who leads the team.

Butts is a first class dunce. God knows who this idiot will pick to tour Sri Lanka but nothing surprises me anymore.

Gayle is probably thinking about retirement. He will no doubt go the route of Gilly, Hayden, Warnie etc. - retire from serious cricket and play lazy man T20 for millions for only a few weeks work. Why not eh?

I hope Gayle doesn't..... If he does it will be a setback for the team. WI only have three batters with 40+ average... Gayle probably heard that Vaas practicing again...

It doesn't matter what team is selected, licks in store for them. The bowlers will have some long days in the field.
