If he really did, he would've made himself available to play for the Leewards for the entire four-day season, instead of only making himself available for two matches. Right now, he seems to feel that his future lies with Derbyshire. When Gordon Greenidge was given a similar choice back in his day, he opted for the Windies.
Chesney's only looking after his own meal packet. If he gets called up to the Windies side, he can no longer play for Derbyshire as an English player, because he holds a British passport. He would have to play as the county's sole international player, and the county wouldn't want that, so he would have to give up his county career. I can't see him doing that....
Chesney was out for six in his match yesterday....
Collymore only took one wicket against Gloucestershire.
Oh look Mike is being "positive" again!!
..probably doesn't want Hughes to take Shivs place!!
, the fact is if he didn't want to play for WI WHY COME BACK TO THE CARIBBEAN AT ALL? he could easily do what Maurice Chambers does and keep his rass in England when the county season is done, but no, he comes back and plays the t20s, then the one day competition and also offers to play some games in the four day competition!!, BECAUSE HE'S COMMITED TO WI, whats the point of him leaving his county team now when he can get vital experience with Derbyshire and learn his craft properly so that when he steps onto the international stage he'll be ready to go?
He said his heart is with WI and until proven otherwise i'll be take his word over baseless speculation thanks, because if i can see how great our line-up could potentially be in a few years i'm sure he can too.
