ah just looked at another WI forum and there are about 15 topics on IPL in the front page...
Why?

Then I'm glad I'm not on that forum then. Besides I don't think all those IPL threads are about 1 player, I'm sure they are about a couple WI players in the IPL.

Dont be jealous my bwoy! By the way, Shiv is now playing in his 19th calendar year---same as Gary Sobers---did you know Shiv has averaged 50+ in 9 of his 19 years while Gary has averaged 50+ in only 8 of his 19 years ?
yuh know when I posted this I knew of the variety of negative responses I would get inluding googleys green and your envy accusation rev.
I love shive, defended him when thngs were down, never joined in the attack on his shortage of academic qualifications and early speech problems...when he was made captain.
shive is real, sound and his records are westindians to enjoy. but I will not be part of a church, replete with doctrine and worship services. I will not be part of any such thing. i dont believe in and follow Jesus, mohammed, allah/god, no chuch, no saint, nutten! far less shive!
shive is human...so is Lara, Viv, Sobers..3 right offwho were and are greater than shive. yet there are no sites, no nothing dedicated to those men. and there must be none save the hall of champions, prepared to receive all such as shive in time, where their achievements will be enshrined for all time.
that and memory are quite enough for me...records like film that one can access to look again at the great innings that brought so much pride and pleasure to westindians.
sing praises of course, write, speak etc. but keep things on a human level is what i say!

precisely! which is why no one will take up Ballys kind offer of space if we want to celebrate any westindian player we would like to celebrate..I imagine in the manner in which shive is now being celebrated.
at least for me there is no need for that. we have sung enough praises to our great ones. we dont need to lift them into areas reserved for gods.
I have been busy kicking gods out of their abodes in the various heavens all my life. I am not about to replace them with human beings I actually know, on the streets, in limes, hanging out, checking chicks and chasing pu**y..not averse to bussing a fart in a lime and chasing everybody...drinking rum, cussing and definetly averse to any god and their demands on humnaity, did not pray or care to pray.....
allyuh mus' be joking!
I love me my westindian players bwoy. but I know them test and dem. athey are all very, very human
and if I wont worship god in heaven or the devil in hell I sure ent worshiping shive...or lara..or viv..or garfield, or holding, roberts, macco.......

Maybe a rare failure by Shiv at Trent Bridge will please and soothe a lot of WI cricket fans, especially Trinidadian supporters of Darren Bravo who were petrified when he ran himself out at Lords---they ended up blaming Shiv for Bravo's run out---then, of course, Bravo ran out Kirk Edwards in the 2nd innings---so clearly the youngman needs to work on his running between wickets---anyway, Shiv is due for a rare failure---his detractors will rejoice.

nonsense rev. dont be peevish!
I dont want shive to fail at trent bridge. I want him to score the ton that palyed with him this time and refused to score.
in fact if shive score a double I would be most pleased. and if rarse sammy finally win the toss and dont do any crap like sending england in...shive may just have the luxury of scoring a double one more time

Let's not forget this is a "fan site". Fan is short for fanatics... Some fans choose to celebrate some choose to whine..
I will not curb any poster enthusiasm celebrating West Indies player(s). We as WI fans have very little to celebrate already. If you want whine, whine til yuh belly full! If you want celebrate full yuh belly too. Make yourself happy...
All I ask that you be respectful ...

But Mappy, if Shiv achieves the success you are wishing for him at Trent Bridge, then his ardent supporters like the Rev and Balloil will come here and expound on his enormous achievements, and their joy and celebration will peeve some folks.
