Hey Marcus, happy new year and all the best for 2016.
Yes, I read that his conjecture caused quite a stir down under. Seems like they need to take a quick view of this here topic in which I have long since jested that Chris doubling as an openher nowadays. AND no I am not condoning his remark in any way!
As far as I observe social media being what it is nowadays even private courtship is 'all out there' for every Tom, Dick & Harriette to read (and see pictures) about.
Chris Gayle, living it large, attempting to score ... again? But please not when on the job! Is how many times i hafi tell you!. Meanwhile ...

I don't support Gayle's comments. It's time he grew up, and kept interviews limited solely to cricket. If Usain Bolt can do it in his interviews, then so can Gayle.
However, I find the over-reaction quite hypocritical. One of my in-laws is an Aussie, and she said that her country is a very misogynistic place, as can be seen from the terrible way they behaved towards their former prime minister, Julia Gillard.
These are the issues that Aussies should be expressing outrage about...not just Gayle's comments.
I was also surprised to find how much of a glass ceiling exists for women when I moved to Britain. Women have a better chance of promotion in places like Jamaica and St Lucia, than in Britain, and it seems, in Australia. So, it seems that a lot of the Aussie media sounds against Gayle hypocritically ignore their own prejudice against women in the workplace.
I was also surprised to find that, in England, women's sports are viewed with such contempt. While in Jamaica, we laud the success of athletes such as Merlene Ottey, Veronica Campbell-Brown, Shelly-Ann Fraser and the netball team, in England women's sports are largely ignored. Their netball team gets next to no coverage, and while we Caribbean people follow the success of Serena Williams, so many Brits put down women's tennis. It's an outlet for their misogyny....
I hope Gayle learns from this. In future, be careful what you say when a mike is put in front of you. What you say in the Caribbean and India might not be acceptable in the country of the white people. Be careful when you're in places like England and Australia...this is more about a black man asking a white woman out on live TV, and in countries with Australia's history, that tends to provoke the reaction he received. If Gayle had kissed her, like Tim Cahill did here, all hell would've broken loose!

But most importantly, treat women with respect. It's immature and childish to be practically asking a woman out on TV while she's interviewing you. This is not the first time Gayle has made ill-advised comments to a female reporter:

Chris....chris, your latest incident demonstrates perfectly how your actions, innocent or playful, can negatively affect other people.
You had the commentary box & all your team mates in stitches for the sake of a cheap joke, a date or simply your inflated ego, so in your own words " who get the cussing " .
That's right, you one. Now ask yourself what would happen if you weren't a celebrity, in the people dem country, because you wont be playing cricket forever........

The fact that nothing came out of that CPL incident shows that the problem is more of a Caribbean one than a Chris Gayle one....
But wait!!..you mean Mike's wife, just like him, isn't Caribbean ? Lord di skeletons are coming out of di closet every day to rhatid!!..talking bout "they" when HE'S ENGLISH himself!!
Man di SELF HATE run deep with dat WANNABE bhai!!..so him kids is what? half India and white from his side and white on him wife side!!..not an OUNCE of Caribbean blood anywhere to rass!!
As for England's outlook when it comes to women's sport!!..STOP LYING!!..I have many friends in the uk and they tell me women's football is shown on tv, women's ashes is shown on tv, women's netball league is shown in tv,..The rugby team who won di world cup got to meet di prime minister and athletes like Jessica Enis are lauded over there too!!!..and when i watched Wimbledon Heather Watson got HUGE support against Serena!!..even to the point where they were cussing poor Rena!!..so don't even try to pull the wool over peoples eyes old boy because unlike you I HAVE CONNECTIONS AROUND DI WORLD .
And P.S!!..half of di Jamaican's you name there got caught DOPPING!!

Great attempt to try and divert attention, but unfortunately ...
"To the MEDIA, Thank You all so! The Haters, I Thank you even more ... I think a lot of past and present cricketers who smile in front my face could've have there say In the public when my so call issue was going on, but y'all don't have the BALLs to stand firm when it matters - but yet when u see me you're like, Chris that's BS against you, it was blown out of proportion smh [shaking my head]...don't tell me, tell the media and public!
"The past cricketer who say I make myself look like a chop, the other who claim I was no good to the youngsters while playing for the thunder, the next one who said he expect that sort of behavior from Chris - Y'all can kiss my 'Black Rass' I love Australia and I will be back again even for the ... oi oi".
The reality is that Gayle doesn't need to play any more Big Bash...he can focus on the IPL and the CPL for the rest of his career, and he will be fine.
