Ha ha ha. I think Hilaire really does believe that as do many others.

Problem is that no one has managed to make Sammy's position untenable. I could just see Sammy coming on at Lord's and bowling some 25 overs picking up, say, 3 for 75.

For the powers that be it is not about winning or losing but "competing".

I can guarantee that If (when?) WI lose this first test a comparison will be made to 2009 and if we last longer than we did then it will he hailed as an "improvement".

It seems to be better to lose with a star team than with a team of stars!!

This new attitude was not in evidence in Northampton yesterday against the English Lions,it was the most disgusting and disrepectfully display I have ever seen from a West Indies Team, from the management right down to the players, the standing Captain was the worse Kirk Edwards .standing in the cover, with hands in the pocket, going through the motioms, The didn't apparently knew that adults actually paid £20 to see that...so much for Sammy's hard working environment...These people who have to consistently tell us that "sammy is a great leader" and saving Windies are even more deluded than the Hillaries and the Hunts

Well, the Bajans are very high on Kirk as the heir apparent to Sammy. They sing his praises every week on Mason&Guest. Apparently he is a "keen student" of the game and has exhibited "leadership qualities".

All 3 pace bowlers had some issues and as a precaution management decided not to risk things getting worse.

That left only flexer Shilly and Samuels who used to pelt. Unfortunately for Shilly the wicket was nothing like the Caribbean pitches and there was no Dominican crowd behind him so he took some stick.
