The WICBC, having called the tour off, 18th Oct, with 1 ODI, 3 tests and 1 T20 yet to be played, means the team can only receive a 1.25 CV rating for the tour.

In a strike over money between the players vs WIPA/WICBC, the future of WICBC has been thrown into serious doubt, as the BCCI now persue a $ 65 m case for the tour cancellation.

Throughout the many pages of comment and observation, this has struck me

" the strike was something you shielded tailenders from "

The best commentary I've heard during the whole saga. Classic aussie understatement.

As I asked on another thread, what exactly :?: about a WI absence leaves, Indian TV appetite / viewing figures for cricket " TORN APART. ( affers ran off like his national anthem was playing )

A deficit of $ 22 m, the value of the last Indian visit to Caribbean shores, multiplied by 4, over the next cycle is already more than enough to ensure a WICBC death by slow suffocation.

The $65 m BCCI lawsuit provides the more humane and painless one, IMO

I think with little guaranteed ICC FTP funds to help, even the batty lickas will now realise " how much a " global " cricket " league ", played by 10 teams, in which 5 have no chance of ascendency = closed shop.

And that the WICBC is not the same thing as West Indian cricket.

With no WICBC or WIPA resignation forthcoming, and yet another WICBC " committee / task force " being set up, to look into the issues Pybus's " 19 historic changes document " clearly failed to address, its a fair guess this drama still has a few more twists in the story before it reaches its conclusion.

This dispute is principally about integrity, ethics, effective management etc.

We shall see.

As I see it sport, politics and finance are joined at the hip, otherwise we would not be at this current juncture.

The consensus now needed in WI cricket to make any meaningful changes in relation to the current dispute will go some way to testing that truth.

Greetings Stumps :)

I think it's a mistake to look at Pybus in insolation, from the time WICB did a " root and branch " study of WI cricket then failed to publish the findings he was left in an impossible position.

Thanks Gils !
Pybus accepted the 200K plus bonus and benefits , so he must be accountable .
He published his "own" findings and effected the Franchise system with its associated costs that failed since only Ramon Reifer really moved in this player movement strategy or lack thereof.
He then left us in an impossible situation by having the players walk out of India.

Wow, a 200 k bonus? Well it can't be linked to performance :geek:

I didnt want the other clowns to escape critique but a 200 k bonus brings a whole new meaning to competitive value.

No,that was his per annum salary PLUS a bonus for exceeding requirements !
he rehashed the previous reports from Patterson,Wilkins , Ramphal and came up with the Franchise plan ,which was an expensive programme that net a ZERO result minus Reifer.
Leeward Island had a second chance this week and went and grabbed their native whom was playing in St.Maarten

Likewise, Ottis took off with his 300k x 4 years or 1.2 million U.S for doing nothing
