linkBarbados coach Emmerson Trotman says he believes fast bowler Tino Best and batsman Ryan Hinds still have a role to play in West Indies cricket.
Neither player was selected for the three-Test tour of Sri Lanka starting next month, despite creditable performances in recent tournaments.
The right-armer Best was the leading performer for Barbados in the recent WICB One-Day Championship, picking up ten wickets at an average of 10.10 per scalp.
In the four-day championship, he snatched 17 wickets at 28.05 to help Barbados finish second behind eventual champions Jamaica.
"With the state of our cricket at the moment, I think we need everyone," Trotman said.
"Tino is still a young man. If he can maintain his discipline, I don't see any reason why he cannot be selected."
Is Hinds physically fit? Is Best mentally fit?
