Sweet Revenge walked away with a lion’s share of the prizes when the T&T Cricket Board’s North Zone Council hosted its 30th Annual Awards ceremony at the Hasely Crawford Stadium’s VIP Lounge over the weekend.
The Diego Martin-based club, Captained by former Berbice medium pacer Luke Latiff, collected trophies for Club of the Year, Cricketer of the Year (David Dick), Most Wickets (Latiff) and Best Bowling Average (Latiff) while three of its players (Dick, Latif and Shaun De Souza) were among the Five Cricketers of the Year.
Latiff, who is now married to a Trinidadian and lives in the Twin-Island Republic, Dick who plays for GNIC in Guyana’s first division and his GNIC team mate DeSouza are all Guyanese and played leading roles for their club this year.
Former Guyana first class batsman Robin Browne was also outstanding for Sweet Revenge this season as the South American cricketers helped their club to divisional promotion for next year’s season.
