Former T&T manager Colin Borde says that batsman Darren Bravo was motivated to become a great player after studying the history of West Indies cricket. The 21-year-old Bravo has established himself as a class act since making his Test debut against Sri Lanka last month, hitting half centuries in each of his first three completed Test innings against the world’s third-ranked team. Borde, who has known the youngster since his early teens and keeps in regular contact with him through Blackberry Messaging, said Bravo has been inspired by the legendary players of the past and has spent his life trying to emulate them. “Darren understands the legacy of West Indies cricket and the responsibility of wearing the maroon cap.

That is very Good News . I am a firm believer that Players need to know the History of West Indies Cricket , and the profiles of some of the Players on whose Shoulders they stand on . Young Bravo seems to have all the goods to becoming a Great Cricketer , In the current Test Match , he made two mistakes , which arent difficult to solve , he played a ball with his bat and arms away from his body , on that occasion , the appael for caught was turned down by the 3 rd Umpire , He again repeated that same mistake , and was definitely out .

I have no fear however that the young man will learn from his errors . I wish him nothing but the best in his career . He is loaded with talent , and seem to hit sixes with effortless ease . I hope that he doesnt get Big Headed , and doesnt have injuries , so that WE can all enjoy his wonderful batmanship .

We should just leave the young man alone . Greatness is achieve after numerous seasons with consistency

of production . He has just come onto the scene , why put undue pressure on the young man .
