Is Gayle retiring from Test cricket or doing so as a protest of Sammy's captaincy?

who cares! tell Gayle nuttten! he is gone and I am certain once he goes he will not be back.

someone will rise in his place! and 2 years up the road Gayle will be 33 and no longer of ineterest from an age standpoint.

good riddance. he meant lttle to westindies cricket anyway...a head-case when all is said and done. at least he has made up his mind finally. a little decisiveness is always good, clears the air and everbody cyan move orn!!

Gayle was a royal pain in the arse...a 'cool' mf only white supporters could like. it was interesting hearing the Kiwi commentators during Gayles large 197 there a lil while ago, describing how beautiful a man Gayle is.

when such as they can love a darker skinned soul that much he is really a soulmate of theirs, minus the skin tones!

they can have him, and like Hoops he cyan find a home among them. thats his right! but as a positive contributor to the development of westindies cricket Gayle is zero on a scale of one to 10.

I will never forget as captian of the westindies, while leading Jamaica in the regionals, Gayles extraordinarily insular outburst against regional umpiring, when decisions seemd to go consistently against Jamaica some years go. Gayle was angry and awful. it sounded like he was threatening to take Jamaica out of the regionals and out of the westindies all-together!

it was as if as wesdtindian captain he did not have the power to seek and effect redress behind the scenes for Jamaic, and to clean up westindian officiating which to be truthful needed improving badly.

as the regional stateman that the captaincy made of him Gayle never, ever spoke of the westindies he led and represented, as a westindian but as a an insular Yardie. the westindies as a unit meant little to him. no wonder he was a non-existent profile in the game while John Dyson was weaving his magig sabotage of westindian chances, against england, while Gayle was captain of the westindies.

Gayle could do nothing in the face of Dysons' sabotage. it is not clear that Gayle even understood what likely was going on with Dyson and never put up a fight, while all kinds of stupid, english-serving decisions about westindian play were made in his presence.

then of course Gayles early resignation from the caotaincy which led to deal between he and skunt Julian Hunte, to destroy westindies cricket by selecting 9 Jamaicans to the westindies side, most of whom were little better than schoolyard bullies.

that to my mind paints clearly Gayles legacy. his vaunted emotional strenght, his supposed great cool, and standing up to the wicb is so much nonsense. Gayle seemd to me to be a very imcompetent man intellectually, a fool really, who has no conception of the world beyond what one might glean from going around the world with an original ghetto basis utterly resistant to broad truth and consequent develoment that often brings about in the development of travellers. indeed all that seems irritant to Gayle.

if there is any solidarity in Gayles make-up with anything, it is to the type of nationalist solidarity that Yardies the world over evince in the collectives they have established anywhere at all, outside the Yard, and in the streets of jamaica.

that has its value so far as it goes, but it is not enough to represent the westindies properly in anything, far less in the cricket leadership. which fact and necessity incidentally, should rule out that sknash fella from the. westindian captaincy

good riddance to Gayle. He wont be missed! certainly not be me!
