Partying tops Gayle's agenda over Ashes

Gayle, who reached Perth on Tuesday, however, was more interested in focusing on his upcoming stint with Western Australia (WA) in the Twenty20 Big Bash.

"I didn't follow much of it because it (Ashes series) kind of clashed with my party events in Jamaica," Gayle was quoted in Sydney Morning Herald.

"In the nights, cricket starts late my time. I heard England retained the Ashes, so congrats to them on their part."

Mumbai: As many as 350 top cricketers from India and abroad would go under the auctioneer's hammer in Bangalore on January 8 and 9 with the 10 IPL franchises bidding for their services for the fourth season of the lucrative Twenty20 League.

Players retained by their original franchise teams are: M S Dhoni, M Vijay, Suresh Raina, Albie Morkel (South Africa) -- retained by Chennai Super Kings; Virat Kohli – Royal Challengers Bangalore; Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh, Lasith Malinga (Sri Lanka) and Kieron Pollard (West Indies) -- Mumbai Indians; Virender Sehwag -- Delhi Daredevils; Shane Warne (Australia), Shane Watson (Australia) – Rajasthan Royals.
