The unofficial ban on T&T batsman Lendl Simmons has been lifted and he will return to the West Indies ‘A’ team which will tour Bangladesh at the end of this month. Despite good performances on his last tour with the West Indies senior team to Australia, Simmons failed to attract the attention of the selectors and sources said he was the subject of negative reports from the team management in Australia, which may have influenced the decision to leave him out of the team. A frustrated Simmons told the Guardian on Friday, he had requested a report from the WICB about his behaviour on the tour, so he could assess his status in West Indies cricket. Up to yesterday, he had not received it.
