Austin, Edwards fined for breaches

St John’s, Antigua – Two players were fined as a result of breaches following the first round of the ongoing WICB Regional 4 Day Tournament.
  1. Ryan Austin of Combined Campuses & Colleges pleaded guilty to the Level 1 charge of showing dissent at an umpire’s decision and accepted Match Referee Carlyle Carter’s fine of 50% of his match fee. There was no need for a hearing since Austin pleaded guilty immediately. This charge resulted from the Windward Islands v Combined Campuses & Colleges match at the 3 Ws Oval in Barbados.
  2. Kirk Edwards pleaded not guilty to the Level 2 charge of showing serious dissent at an umpire’s decision by action or verbal abuse. At the hearing he was found guilty and fined 75% of his match fee.
A third hearing was held.

Tino Best pleaded not guilty to the Level 2 charge of engaging in inappropriate and deliberate physical contact with other players in the course of play. At the hearing Best was found not guilty.

 In the cases of Edwards and Best the hearings were conducted by Match Referee Hayden Bruce with guidance by senior Match Referee Adrian Griffith.

 These charges resulted from the Barbados v Trinidad & Tobago match at Guaracara Park in Trinidad.

 There were no charges following Round Two of the WICB Regional 4 Day Tournament.

allyuh ent noticing how a bureaucracy has grown up around cricket, most of it on rules that discipline players.

while players get punished and lose valuable fees and monies umpires still cyar get decisons right.

Come on Mapoui...no umps go out deh to call a make a bad call. They are humans.,, However, the players know the rules and should respect it. ...

Hope you noticed all the Players are Bajans...
