This explains why subscribers couldn't stream earlier. That sucks..Now they are giving $10 credit for future series. This is a way to hold on to you for future subscription. Fans should demand a refund for the current series since this is the affected subscription and you may not use them in the futureYou may be aware that our website was a victim of a distributed denial-of-service attack at the beginning of today's match between India vs Bangladesh. Our engineers were able to contain the situation within approximately 30 minutes, but due to the magnitude of the attack, all systems took a while to fully stabilize. Many users were able to access the live feeds in the first hour, although a few users only saw a full restoration of service midway through the first innings. We are still fully analyzing the impact of this attack and should have a more full analysis available within the next 24 hours. We have already implemented a number of steps to ensure this does not impact us in the same way again.
As our engineers worked to contain the situation, we made a decision to limit a few auxiliary services so as to be able to restore stability at the earliest. Services impacted included access to streams for Roku and mobile users. We are in the process of restoring these services over the next 24 hours.
Please accept our sincerest apologies for this unfortunate incident. We are taking all steps possible to protect against such occurrences again. Two steps we are taking immediately are:
* All World Cup package subscribers will receive an automatic credit of $10 in their Willow TV accounts, applicable towards a future purchase of your choice. Please accept this as a token gesture from us.
* During the week of Feb 21, you will receive an email with instructions on how to continue to access the live video feeds, should for any reason our website become unavailable in spite of the measures we are taking now. This will be a simple set of instructions (e.g. go to an alternate URL that we will provide) where the live match feeds will be available to you. We are confident that this set of "emergency" instructions will not be required, but out of an abundance of caution we will make these arrangements.
