This may explain why people in India are reportedly rethinking GE's bid for a big piece of the country's proposed market for $150 billion in new nuclear power plants in that country, and why it may not be so easy for GE and other nuclear plant builders to escape liability for their products in the future.
Back in November, President Obama was in India pushing that country's government to pass legislation exempting GE from liability for nuclear "accidents." That idea is probably not going to go very far now.

Obama knew clearly of the very poor design of GE's nuclear power plants and yet there he is selling the damm thing to nations.... and trying to force these nations to pass laws to protect GE, not the populations exposed to danger from GEs irreponsible, profit driven, engineering...from likely accidents.
just take a look at the crazy power stating design. what GE designed os a nuclear bomb waiting to go off in the face of the people who buy and build their jackass station.
talk about your human suicide vehicle!

"The pools, which sit on the top level of the reactor buildings and keep spent fuel submerged in water, have lost their cooling systems and the Japanese have been unable to take emergency steps because of the multiplying crises.
The threat is that the hot fuel will boil away the cooling water and catch fire, spreading radioactive materials far and wide in dangerous clouds....
The bad news is that if efforts to deal with the emergency fail, the results could be worse.
The pools are a worry at the stricken reactors at the Fukushima Daiichi plant because at least two of the three have lost their roofs in explosions, exposing the spent fuel pools to the atmosphere. By contrast, reactors have strong containment vessels that stand a better chance of bottling up radiation from a meltdown of the fuel in the reactor core.
Were the spent fuel rods in the pools to catch fire, nuclear experts say, the high heat would loft the radiation in clouds that would spread the radioactivity.
"It's worse than a meltdown," said David A. Lochbaum, a nuclear engineer at the Union of Concerned Scientists who worked as an instructor on the kinds of General Electric reactors used in Japan." ("In Stricken Fuel-Cooling Pools, a Danger for the Longer Term", New York Times)
Finally, here's a statement delivered via You Tube on Tuesday

I woke up this morning somewhat refreshed and looking back at yesterday as a terrible day, one of the worst, most depressed days of my life.
for the first time in life I felt totally hopeless yesterday, that we are capable of absolutely nothing of a positive nature, that we are so flawed as a species we can do nothing but commit the suicide we have been engaged in up to this point
what a day. I hope I never live through another such day. I prefer to be irradiated to a crisp and done, rather than unhappy my way out of it

they have stopped woking on the reactors...or just 1 or a few of them?
they have certainly had to give up on at least 1 as too dangerous!

WTF!!!![]()
why he skunt don't build it in the US???
actually deh have built 23 of that type in the USA, runing and producing electricity as we speak...as well as poisoning americans who live nearby.
anyhow its datIndia wants to buy them too.
allyuh India wants to become a wurl powah, jess like america, with plenty nuclear weapons, navy with carriers and destroyers, huge army with marines, beating up on smaller nations, threatening and bullying people all ovah the wurl, jess like tel aviv and washington.
it have a price fuh dat. ah huge price! I wondah if allyuh prepared to pay it!?
now with the japanese failure the Indian government may be re-considering the GE reactor purchase.
but dat doh mean deh done with nuclear powah. far from it. all it means is dat deh looking fuh another type or reactor dats all!
