18 year old Barbadian Kraigg Brathwaite will be debuting for the West Indies in the 2nd test against Pakistan at Warner park, St Kitts.

The Tiger, Shiv Chanderpaul, who also made his debut for the West Indies as a teenager back in 1994 had some words of encouragement for young Kraig Brathwaite:

The Tiger said to Brathwaite:
TEK YUH TIME KRAIGG. NO RUSH. TEK YUH TIME.
Words of wisdom, indeed, from the Tiger to Kraigg Brathwaite.

KRAIGG BRATHWAITE'S FIRST CLASS STATS:
In 16 first class matches, Kraigg Brathwaite has scored 977 runs at an average of 39.08 with 2 hundreds and 5 fifties
Brathwaite's stats

FIRST CLASS AVERAGE LESS THAN 40

Like Lendl Simmons, Darren Bravo, Marlon Samuels, Brendan Nash, and Devon Smith---young Kraigg Brathwaite does not average 40+ in first class.

BUT LETS ALL WISH KRAIGG BRATHWAITE A SUCCESSFUL TEST CAREER.

Congrats to KB on his debut. KB must be a happy man to be playing along side his hero Shiv. I hope Shiv takes Kraigg under his wings and give him some good advice. :)

As you know, Shiv is a man of few words and has already given young Kraigg all the advice he needs. Read again:

Kraigg's average was as high as 43 during the four day competition so it's no big deal!!, it will get back up very soon i'm sure.

When Sarwan made his test debut his First Class average was in the mid 30s---10 years later these are Sarwan's first class and test averages:
40.04...Sarwan's First Class average

41.37...Sarwan's Test average

Kraigg Brathwaite has a first class average of 39.06

Darren Bravo has a first class average of 37.32

Both Brathwaite and Bravo would have done well if they can match Sarwan's 41+ test average at the end of their careers.
