The company, which specialises in data and voice communication, has its origins in the island of Wakenaam, and has over the years supported Savory and other youngsters, and coaches from the Essequibo region. According to Chief Executive Officer, Safraz Sheriffudeen, “Kemol has been a hard worker over the years, who was patient for his opportunity on the big stage. It has come and he has excelled thus far and we saw it fit to support him on this journey.” Savory, a talented wicketkeeper/batsman, was voted the Senior Male Cricketer-of-the-Year at the Essequibo Cricket Board awards last year and recently made his First-Class debut for Guyana Harpy Eagles. In just his third match, he notched his maiden ton and has thus far scored 199 runs this season from four matches. “We are proud to see him play for Guyana at the senior level in both formats, and the journey has now begun for him. As such, we as a company, who are committed to playing a part in the development of youth, knew it is important we keep supporting this talented cricketer,” Sheriffudeen added. The 26-year-old Savory expressed gratitude to V-Net for gifting the new willow and promised to reward them with “lots of runs” as he envisions a long and fruitful career for Guyana, and ultimately West Indies in the future. Another young cricketer, Keemo Paul, is the Brand Ambassador of the company.
