more like no showWHAT AN embarrassing letdown!
The awesome all-conquering Aussies dashed the high hopes of a West Indies’ semi-final berth after Sunday’s victory at Kensington Oval with a hurtful six-wicket defeat at the Beausejour Cricket Ground here last night.
Even before a ball was bowled, one placard said it all-’Who will turn up today, West Indies or Waste Windies!’ It was the latter and they capitulated for a meagre 105 in 19 overs in the day-night encounter.
Unbeaten Australia then cruised home, reaching 109 for four in 16.2 overs to win by six wickets and sweep their three Super Eights matches to set up a semi-final showdown with defending champions Pakistan on Friday.
