C614&ssl=1" />Berbice and Demerara recorded victories on Tuesday when action continued in the Guyana Cricket Board Senior Inter-county 50-over competition. At Enmore, Berbice defeated the Guyana Cricket Board’s Select XI by three wickets to remain unbeaten after two completed rounds, while over at GCC, Demerara rebounded from a first round loss to defeat Essequibo by four wickets. SUMMARY: Select XI 188-9 from 50 overs (Raymond Perez 52, Christopher Barnwell 50, Joshua Persaud 21; Veerasammy Permaul 5-40, Nial Smith 1-14, Gudakesh Motie 1-19, Kevin Sinclair 1-41) vs Berbice 191-7 from 39.5 overs (Kevin Sinclair 81, Seon Hetmyer 31, Nigel Deodat 30, Seon Glasgow 22; Jonathan Rampersaud 2-10, Isai Thorne 2-30) Batting first at Enmore, the Select XI mustered 188-9 with opener Raymond Perez hitting 52 off 60 (6x4s) and Christopher Barnwell an even fifty off 58 balls (3x4s, 2x6s). Bowling for Berbice, left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul picked up 5-40 off 10 overs, while Nial Smith, Kevin Sinclair and Gudakesh Motie had one each. Berbice then achieved victory in 39.5 overs with Sinclair leading the way with 81 off 75 balls, an innings that included nine fours and three sixes. Seon Hetmyer made 31 off 52 (1×4, 1×6) and Nigel Deodat scored 30 off 44 (1×4), while Isai Thorne and Jonathan Rampersaud taking two wickets each. SUMMARY: Essequibo 203 all out from 41.2 overs (Kemol Savory 36, Quentin Sampson 32, Malcolm Hubbard 24; Ronaldo Alimohamed 3-37, Sherfane Rutherford 3-37) vs Demerara 205-6 from 45.2 overs (Tagenarine Chanderpaul 70*, Akshaya Persaud 41, Sherfane Rutherford 22, Tevin Imlach 21, Mavindra Dindyal 20; Antony Adams 2-46) Over at Bourda, Essequibo made 203 with Kemol Savory making 36 off 55 (3x4s) and Quentin Sampson 32 off 18 (3x4s, 2x6s), with Ronaldo Alimohamed and Sherfane Rutherford taking three wickets each. Demerara achieved victory at 205-6 from 45.2 overs with opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul making 70 not out off 118 balls (6x4s, 1×6). Akshaya Persaud made 41, while Rutherford made 22, Tevin Imlach 21 and Mavindra Dindyal 20. Bowling for Essequibo, Antony Adams took 2-46. The third round of the Inter-county competition will be played on Thursday with Berbice versus Essequibo at GCC and Demerara against the Select XI at Enmore. The final is set for Saturday at the GCC ground, Bourda. All games start at 09:00h.
