A state of emergency needs to be called in West Indies cricket as they face a serious prospect of losing their home one-day series against South Africa in record time.

The Windies fell 17 runs short in their bid to chase 300 at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua thanks to Dwayne Bravo’s 74 off 70 balls, a solid yet slow 51 off 85 balls from opener Dale Richards and a cameo knock from Darren Sammy (58 not out off 24 balls).

Captain Chris Gayle’s run of ill-fated opening blitzkriegs continues, his failure to post any meaningful total in one-day cricket now stretches back to his 135 against New Zealand in January last year.

Since then Gayle has contributed a host of mid-range scores in the 50-over format, his 88 against Zimbabwe in March the best of the lot.

South Africa’s plan should be a simple one – starve the West Indies boundaries whose inability and reluctance to push the singles will spark frustration that will end in flailing bats and their own demise.
It’s a dead easy plan and one that should see the Proteas seal a series victory.

aftah a good nights sllep yu see this right fuh true!

I noticed gayle when I saw that godaful swipe that led to a catch in the deep game before the last. Gayle cant deal with being Atlas....is it getting to him..has it gotten to him?

you have no idea how skunt tired I am about westindian batsmen and bowlers, fielders and captaincy having difficulties dealing with the conditions of games, unable to adjust, screwing up when presure is put pon them, not being able to put any prossure on the opposition, cant deal with anything save the conditions are ideal.

eff then..all of them! lets face it...the white teams, India, Oakistan and Lanka are superior people to blacs, to westindian Indians and their derivatives who populate the westindian team. westinaidna are clear and inferior race, were capable of championship spurts in the past, butthose are gone now and we are reduced to what we really are...inferior beings...inferior to all others in the world.

that is exactly what westindies have played like for 15 years now. do we need any more proof?

we keep looking for excuse..we blame the wicb, capitalism, comunism, the red caribbean sea water, piracy, carnival and mas', calypso and eric williams, the gulf oil spill and soon Kamla...yet who and what in the hell is the cause of, and to blame for, westindian inablity to exercise what all and sundry recognise as simple common sense?

who forces gayle to play such an idiot shot? simple self interest and self preservation, the love of fame. selfishness etc., should dictate to him that he should make as many runs as he could and not to commit suicide! does he not lke his name in the record books? does he not like the adulation of success..or is he one of those ill people who thrives on failure.

in the end as captain and individual it does not really matter who fails as long as you take care to ensure that you dont.

and that goes for each and all of them. it is the team first of course but overall success is made up of individual contributions, some greater than others. all must strive to do whats best for self and country at the end of the day and that does involve a heavy dose of selfishness and individual drive.

what westindies is basically, is a collection of idiot players, clearly not the mental equals of the oppostion they face, and devoid of the capacity to understand this clear shortage and inferiority, and inability to correct themselves and make-up the shortage.

somebody tell me if I am wrong!?

we need a stupid alert not a state of emergency... STUPID ALERT..AS IN LOOK OUT WORLD, THERE ARE FOOLS IN THE VICINITY! :x :x
