Ravi Rampaul ...... no bidders

A Russel ............. $450,000 .............Delhi Daredevils

S Narine .............. $ 700,000 ............Kolkata Knight Riders

According to Harbhajan Singh for Mumbai Indians: "We had a set plan, we got the players we were looking for. At the moment we are not disappointed. Would have been nice to get Sunil Narine ... for me this was something new. I was a little tense. More tense than when playing
cricket, we wanted Narine .

Bye Bye WICB , now he can tell H&H where to go . :P :P

I think that makes it clear to Afro's COTR that Narine has no intention of playing Test cricket this year....
:)
Here's the full list of players bought:

http://www.espncricinfo.com/indian-prem ... 52053.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Narine has gone to KKR, Russell to Delhi, and Gayle retained by RCB. There were no bids for Adrian Barath, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Darren Bravo, Marlon Samuels, Dwayne Smith, Fidel Edwards and Ravi Rampaul. Of course, some of these players are Test players, and the franchises probably felt there was no way they would get NOCs for them from the WICB.

It will be interesting to see if the WICB give Narine an NOC....
:)
Over to you, Afro - should the WICB give Narine an NOC?

Who is S Narine .......

Go for the money like Polly , become financially secure so you dont have to rely on

the WICB . He has no retainer , so the WICB has no choice .

Restraint of trade lawsuit coming up ....if they dont . :P

Obviously members of the COTR are hot property the world over, but the bottom line is THEY WANT TO PLAY TEST CRICKET, therefore if Sunil impresses in this four day competition and gets the call for the Aussie series HE WILL REJECT THE IPL FORTHWITH, there's no doubt in my mind, the yute isn't a gready skunt like Gayle,

The likes of Soca want him to go because she cares more about hurling abuse at the WICB than she does about the West Indies team  , which is sad but that kind of negative energy will not stop the COTR movement,

If the WI selectors don't feel Sunil is ready for Test level yet then by all means grant the NOC, he can go to India and gain more experience whilst mixing with other international players and in turn he should come back an even better player, whatever the case he will play test cricket sooner rather than later, so i'm not stressing :D .

That sounds like double-standards to me, Afro....
8-)
Out of one side of your mouth, you're cussing players like Gayle, Big Bravo and Pollard for choosing to play in the IPL, and out of the other, you're making excuses for Narine doing the same.

Hypocrisy is one of main characteristics you have to have to work with the WICB. There's probably a job waiting for you there....
:D
In the second round of auctioning so far, Kevon Cooper has gone to Rajasthan Royals for $50,000, and Darren Bravo to Deccan Chargers for $100,000. Now, how's that going to work?
For the first half of the IPL, the WIndies play Test cricket against Australia, and for the second half of the IPL, the Windies play Test cricket in England. Now, will the WICB grant Lil Bravo an NOC? Or will they cuss him privately, and demand that he withdraw from the IPL, the way they did with Sammy and the BPL?
:)
Over to you, Afro...what's the WICB going to do with Lil Bravo?

MR England can you please quote me where i "cussed off" Dwayne and Pollard please? you've ran your big mouth so i'm sure you must have said quotes tucked up somewhere!!..so i look forward to seeing them shortly!! .

Really i don't know what the feck is going on!! , there's no way in blue hell that Darren will be allowed ton sacrifice the Test side for the IPL after what he done in the last two series!!.. no way at all, unless the IPL and WICb have come to some sort of agreement that our players can only play in certain games? that's the only explanation i have right now, no doubt i'll have to do some digging in due course!! ,

But just a word about India!!!.. WHAT A BUNCH OF VINDICTIVE SKUNTS THEY ARE!! , they saw first hand what a talented bunch the COTR are and they mussa thought to themselves "oh lord we're a sinking ship and we can't have them passing us by so lets stop them before they rise to prominence"...DI WHOLE WORLD SCARED NOW!!..they see what we have and these skunts will stop at nothing to destract di COTR from it's main goal, first they want Narine, one of the biggest icons of the movement and now they're trying to tek the little prince too? the yute of which the very foundations of the COTR were built from? it's not acceptable and these kind of "spoiling tactics" WILL NOT WORK!!.. trust me.

Nash must have smelt blood a long time ago!!.. why else would he back in the caribbean now? :| i hope the WICB act accordingly and let everyone know what the score is before this gets out of hand.

Will the WICB be that hypocritical in denying a NOC?

They might try that shyte with players from the Windwards, Leewards, Guyana, or Barbados but I feel sure the governments of TT and Jamaica would not allow that shyte.

Leave it to the player to decide. Now of course the WICb could threaten the player......

A certain argumentative poster keeps pressing me on my stance about the IPL and West Indies players, so here goes....
:)
I'm just going to re-hash what I said two years ago when this fuss first blew up with Chris Gayle, and certain unnamed posters thought that Gayle was a rogue cricketer, and that the other WI cricketers wouldn't have the same conflict of interest that he did.

1) Gayle is not alone. He was the first. There will be more to come, as we've seen the WICB clash with Big Bravo, Pollard and Taylor over the IPL. They've now patched up with Big Bravo and Pollard, but I suspect that's only temporary, because neither are in line for a Test recall yet. Taylor remains at odds with the WICB. Now, we have Narine, Lil Bravo and Samuels wanting to play in the IPL instead of Test cricket for the West Indies.

2) Two years ago, I said (and so did others) that the WICB cannot compete with the IPL, because they don't have the money to do so. They need to stop scheduling series that clash with the IPL. In the 1980s, we had a lot of series that ended in mid-April, and that's what we should be striving for now. We also need to stop accepting tours to England in May. Even Sri Lanka had the balls to insist to the ECB that their tour of England starts in late May. But the WICB is so spineless that they accept two consecutive tours where the Tests take place completely in May, starting at the beginning of the month, and ending at the end of the month. Given the difficult conditions in England with the seaming and swinging ball, that is very inconsiderate to your team, and does them no favours when those cold, wet conditions clash with the better-paid IPL.

3) The only way forward is to work WITH the players and the IPL, to ensure that West Indian players can play both for the West Indies and for the IPL. That way, players can get the money they want from taking part in the IPL, and play Test cricket for the West Indies.

Until the WICB take this approach, there will always be conflict between the WICB and the players....

Actually MR ENGLAND until that actually happens IT'S SPECULATION AT THIS POINT, if Darren didn't wanna play Test cricket why doesn't he just go now? furthermore with him being ON CONTRACT i thought the WICB don't have to let him go? Narine hasn't been called up yet either so he HASN'T HAD A DECISION TO MAKE, if the call comes and he turns it down then you might have a point, until then YOUR VIEWS ARE PURE CONJECTURE.

Well i'm not gonna argue with you about those ENGLISH CONDITIONS, you more than anyone on this board WOULD KNOW ABOUT THAT!! , but the fact is THE ICC are the ones who are running things, whether we play your home country in early May or late May it doesn't really matter, it's gonna be a tough series regardless of when we play them,

As far as i'm concerned whoever don't wanna represent WI CAN KICK ROCKS!! , those skunts wouldn't even have a career if it wasn't for caribbean cricket, but just when the region needs them they wanna turn their backs as soon as someone flashes a few dollars in their face!!!.. it's pure GREAD, a legacy created by that wukless skunt Chris Gayle, and yet dummies run around like he's some sort of "hero"?...it's PATHETIC  .
