"Chris Gayle has arrived in South Africa carrying a grade two groin strain that could keep him out of action for the Dolphins for at least another week. Gayle is contracted to the Durban-based franchise for the entire MiWAY T20 Challenge but missed their first match on Sunday because of an injury sustained while playing for the Barisal Burners in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Gayle's injury was assessed in Durban on Monday, and both he and the Dolphins are remaining tight lipped about when he will be fit to play. The usual timeframe for an injury of this description to heal is two to three weeks and Gayle has already had a week's healing time."

'“I’m not here to fool around. I’m here to bring entertainment to the fans and take the cricket forward and add some good value to the Dolphins,” Edwards told a news conference on Wednesday in Durban. “I think it’s my fourth time here (in South Africa) and I’ve always had a good stay here so hopefully I can bring something extra to the Dolphins and hopefully take them through to the Champions League (CLT20),” he added. The two teams which contest the T20 Challenge final qualify for the lucrative CLT20 and the Dolphins have made no secret of their intention of qualifying for the tournament. The KZN franchise already has hard-hitting Jamaican batsman Chris Gayle on their books but their star signing is not expected to be fit until March 9. Edwards is himself a replacement after the Dolphins had initially signed Australia quick Shaun Tait, who was forced to pull out of the T20 Challenge with an elbow injury.'

Fidel opens the bowling...just one run off his first over.

Second over more expensive, conceding eight, as it was Prince and not Smuts who faced up to Fidel.

Fidel to bowl his third over now....seven runs from it.

Butts might just know what he is doing when he sent fidel to south africa for a rest.

This is the second dolphins match in a row to be washed out without a ball being bowled.

"Chris Gayle will play no part for Dolphins in the MiWAY T20 Challenge in South Africa, as his groin injury persists. Gayle left South Africa on Sunday for Trinidad where he will attend the funeral of his former West Indies team-mate Runako Morton, who died in a car accident last week. Gayle may have been able to get fit in time for Dolphin's final group-stage match, on March 21, but the franchise and him have agreed he will not return to South Africa."
