Trinidad and Tobago endured a rough day in the field against South Africa, as the visitors posted 347 for four in their 90 overs yesterday, first day of their two-day tour match at Sir Frank Worrell Ground, UWI SPEC, St Augustine.

South Africa will certainly be pleased with their batting form--led by fifties from Alviro Petersen (65 runs, 139 minutes, 87 balls), AB De Villiers (53, 117 minutes, 102 balls, three fours, one six), JP Duminy (51, 72 balls, 86 minutes), and Mark Boucher (51 not out).

De Villiers, Duminy and in-form Hashim Amla (44, 56 balls, five fours, one six) all retired after having nice knocks in the middle.

Most impressive on the day from a T&T perspective were debutant all-rounder, leg-spinner Yannic Cariah, and experienced chinaman bowler Dave Mohammed, both of whom created pressure and bagged a wicket each in the second session.
T&T will face their 90 overs today from 10 a.m., so South Africa’s bowlers can have a run before Thursday’s Test against the West Indies at the Queen’s Park Oval.
