Trinidad and Tobago sprint star Kelly-Ann Baptiste shot to the top of the 2010 women’s 100 metres world performance list with a blazing 10.84 seconds run, at the National Training Centre (NTC) Stars Invitational meet, in Clermont, Florida, on Saturday.
The clocking is a new national record, bettering the 10.94 standard established by Baptiste at the 2009 National Championships by a full tenth of a second.
’I was shocked,’ the 23-year-old sprinter told the Express, yesterday. ’I was amazed at the time.’

Good run by Baptiste over the 100....
However, she still has work to do on her 200. She finished a distant fourth at the New York Diamond League event. In that race, jamaica's Veronica Campbell-Brown upset the highly-fancied Allyson Felix in an impressive run.
