The men's 100m should feature Jamaicans Asafa Powell, Nesta Carter and Lerone Clarke against Americans Justin Gatlin, Mike Rodgers and Darvis Patton.

In the men's 200m, American Walter Dix should be challenged by Jamaicans Mario Forsythe, Marvin Anderson and Rasheed Dwyer.

In the men's 400m, American Lashawn Merritt should face competition from Tabarie Henry of the US Virgin Islands.

Bahamians Trevor Barry and Donald Thomas will be taking part in the men's high jump.

It will be another Jamaica-USA clash in the women's 100m, with Veronica Campbell-Brown, Shelly-Ann Fraser, Sherone Simpson and Kerron Stewart representing the Caribbean nation, and Allyson Felix, Mikele Barber and Lashaunte Moore turning out for the Americans.

Jamaicans Melaine Walker and Kaliese Spencer will run in the women's 400m hurdles against Britain's Perri Shakes-Drayton.

Kenia Sinclair will be taking part in the women's 800m, and Brigitte Foster-Hylton will be in the women's 100m hurdles, while Trinidad's Cleopatra Borel will be in the women's shot putt.

The brilliant veteran Jamaican hurdler Brigitte Foster-Hylton rolled back the years to beat a stellar cast in winning the women's 100m hurdles in a time of 12.60, ahead of American Kellie Wells (12.72).

There was a Jamaica 1-2 in the women's 400m hurdles as Olympic champion Melaine Walker won in 54.62 ahead of Kaliese Spencer (54.99).

Jamaican favourites were upset in the 100m, as in the men's, disgraced American veteran Justin Gatlin won in 9.87, just dipping ahead of Asafa Powell (9.88), while another Jamaican, Lerone Clarke, finished third in 9.99. Another American, Allyson Felix, surprisingly won in 10.92 ahead of Jamaicans Veronica Campbell-Brown (10.94) and Shelly-Ann Fraser (11.00).

So, now it's on to the Shanghai Diamond League meet on Saturday....

Jamaicans Asafa Powell, Nesta Carter, Michael Frater and Mario Forysthe will go up against Kim Collins of St Kitts, and Americans Mike Rodgers and Darvis Patton in the men's 100m.

The women's 200m should feature Jamaicans Veronica Campbell-Brown, Aleen Bailey and Aneisha McLaughlin against Americans Carmelita Jeter, Tiffany Townsend and Charonda Williams.

In the women's 400m, Jamaicans Novlene Williams, Shericka Williams and Kaliese Spencer will go up against Botswana's Amantle Montsho and Americans Debbie Dunn and Francena McCrorory.

St Lucian Lavern Spencer and Jamaican Sheree Francis will take part in the women's high jump, Jamaica's Dwight Thomas will run in the men's 110m hurdles, Isa Phillips of Jamaica will be in the men's 400m hurdles, and Bahamian Leevan Sands will participate in the men's triple jump.

There were wins for Jamaicans Asafa Powell, Veronica Campbell-Brown and Novlene Williams on a wet evening at Shanghai.

Powell clocked 10.02 to win the men's 100m ahead of American Mike Rodgers (10.08) and another Jamaican, Nesta Carter (10.16). VCB won the women's 200m in 20.50, holding off a late surge from Carmelita Jeter of the US (22.62), with Nigerian Blessing Olakbare third in 22.71 and Jamaica's Anneisha McLaughlin fourth in 22.79. Williams overhauled favourite Amantle Montsho of Botswana, to win the women's 400m in a time of 50 seconds flat. Montsho was second in 50.83 and another Jamaican, Kaliese Spencer, third in 51.81.

At Rome on Thursday, Jamaicans Shelly-Ann Fraser, Schillonie Calvert, Kerron Stewart and Sherone Simpson will compete against Laverne Jones-Ferrette of the US Virgin Islands and American Mikele Barber of the US in the women's 100m. In the meJamaicans Usain Bolt and Asafa Powell versus Kim Collins of St Kitts, and Frenchman Christophe Lemaitre.

In the women's 100m hurdles, Jamaican Brigitte Foster-Hylton will take on Americans Lolo Jones, Dawn Harper, Kellie Wells and Danielle Carruthers, Britain's Tiffany Porter, and Priscilla Lopes-Schliep of Canada.

In the women's 400m hurdles, Jamaicans Melaine Walker and Kaliese Spencer will go up against American Lashinda Demus and Britain's Perri Shakes-Drayton.

In the men's 400m hurdles, it will be Jehue Gordon of Trinidad versus Bershawn Jackson of the US, South Africans LJ van Zyl and Cornel Fredericks, David Greene of Britain, Puerto Rican Javier Culson and Felix Sanchez of the DOminican Republic.

Usain Bolt (9.76) clocked the fastest time of the year to beat his Jamaican compatriot Asafa Powell (9.91), with Frenchman Christophe Lemaitre finishing a distant third on 10.04 in the men's 100m. In the women's equivalent, Ivorian Murielle Ahoure (11.00) upset Jamaicans Shelly-Ann Fraser (11.06) and Kerron Stewart (11.10) and Laverne Jones-Ferrette of the US VIrgin Islands (11.18).

Jamaica's Kaliese Spencer won the women's 400m hurdles in a time of 54.40 ahead of world champion Lashinda Demus of the US (54.80). There was also a shock win in the men's high jump, which was won by Britain's Robbie Grabarz with a world-leading 2.33m.

The next Diamond League meet is at Eugene, Oregon, on Saturday....

In the men's 100m, Americans Justin Gatlin and Walter Dix take on Jamaicans Nesta Carter and Nickel Ashmeade, while in the 200m Dix and his compatriots Wallace Spearmon and Shawn Crawford go up against Trinidadians Richard Thompson and Rondell Sorillo, Michael Mathieu of the Bahamas, and Jamaica's Marvin Anderson. In the women's equivalent, Americans Allyson Felix and Carmelita Jeter will take on Jamaican Anneisha McLaughlin.

In the men's 400m, it will be Kirani James of Grenada vs Bahamians Demetrius Pinder and Chris Brown, and Americans Lashawn Merritt and Jeremy Wariner. The women's equivalent will feature Jamaicans Novlene Williams and Shericka Williams up against Amantle Montsho of Botswana and Sanya Ross-Richards of the US. An action-packed 110m hurdles will feature Liu Xiang of China, Cuban Dayron Robles, Britain's Andy Turner, Dwight Thomas of Jamaica, and Americans Jason Richardson, David Oliver and Aries Merritt.

Shara Proctor from the tiny Caribbean island of Anguilla (a British colony) beat the might of the USA to win the women's long jump with a leap of 6.84m, to win the event for the mother country.

American Lashawn Merritt won the men's 400m in 44.91 ahead of Grenada's Kirani James (4.97) and Chris Brown of the Bahamas (45.24), but the Grenadian was disqualified for an earlier false start.

Sanya Richards of the US won the women's equivalent in 49.36, ahead of Botswana's Amantle Montsho (49.62) and Jamaican Novlene Williams (49.78).

American Wallace Spearmon won the men's 200m in a time of 20.27, ahead of Churanda Martina of Curacao (20.49), Jamaica's Marvin Anderson (20.74) and Trinidadian Rondell Sorillo (20.81).

Britain's Mo Farah won the men's 5000m in 12:56.98.
