Gold Coast to host U19 Series against Pakistan

Cricket Australia (CA) today announced that the Gold Coast will host a short U19 One-Day International Series from 29 July to 3 August between Australia and Pakistan immediately before the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup.

Kerrydale Oval will host the three-match U19 ODI Series between the host nation and Pakistan, directly before the pinnacle youth cricket event gets underway in the sunshine state a few days later.

All matches are limited-overs using standard ICC One-Day International playing conditions. The Australian U19 squad for the series against Pakistan will be announced in early July, as will Australia’s World Cup squad.

Teams Depart


Townsville, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast will be the three host regions for the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2012 with more than 400 cricketers from 14 nations converging on Queensland.

It will be the second time the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup has been held in Australia, after the inaugural event in 1988, and will showcase the world’s best emerging players, broadcasting their talents around the globe to millions of television viewers in India, England, New Zealand and South Africa amongst many others via ESPN STAR SPORTS.

Australia is the reigning ICC U19 Cricket World Cup winner, after the Mitchell Marsh-led squad won the trophy at the last event in New Zealand in January 2010.
