Unofficial test championship starts tomorrow

The unofficial test championship starts tomorrow at the Oval with England taking on South Africa in the first test.
Hope the weather stays away from what could be an absorbing contest.
De Villiers and Kallis are numbers 3 and 4 in the test rankings and Shiv is number 2.That could change but Shiv has an excellent opportunity to to maintain his number 2 spot or even gain some ground on Sangakkara.

Even Shiv nah come close - ha ha ha ha.
And of course there is Steyn!!

cricket goes orn all the time...every day of every year....
we are on this board here chatting away. we are on other boards doing the same....
we read and look at and listen to cricket all the time....
and in all this time I must have heard kallis name called twice in recent memory...once I mentioned it above.... and 2 you said it after me
and i talking about all the world of cricket. on cricinfo, on all the sites and boards I dont remember seeing kallis name once in the last 3 freaking months at least
big average, a never ending career, tons of runs, tons of tons...and no one talks about him..no one mentions him, glories in his batting, swears by him etc. NO ONE! the man has made no sticking impact on anyone who comes out and pronounces on him as anything at all.
IS ONLY YOU WHO MENTION HIM
AFTER 20+ YEARS ITS STILL JACQUES who

Sounds like a bunch of sour grapes to me.
THE FACT IS THIS SERIES DECIDES WHO IS THE ICC RANKED NUMBER ONE TEST TEAM IN THE WORLD, WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT.

meaningless is, combined, all the comments you made in response to my statement.
my collective meaning is that Kallis is an ordimary accumulator of stats ...and despite the magnitude of his collection.. no one is really interested. no one pays to see him bat per se.
Kallis has made no lasting impression on anyone... so out of sight out of mind.
the greats on the other hand even when their time on the field is done, are never far from mention..are mentioned..everyday somewhere where cricket is played, the topic of endless discussion and arguments on cricket.
Rohan kanhai played his last game 37 years ago..yet hardly a day goes by and his name goes un-mentioned here
when was the last time you heard anyone arguing about kallis anywhere
or like this one here: whether he is remembered at all
thats the kind of discussion I have seen of Kallis..everyone dismissing him, with lone dissenters trying to fight back
the man is an after-thought if that..held in esteem only by obscure, cantankerous, 'ornery' wrong-headed and contrary posters on message boards

The thread was never about Kallis.
This is a message board, a fact which you do not seem to understand.
The fact that you don't give a fig is neither here nor there. There is a packed house at the Oval enjoying the cricket and I doubt if they give a rat's ass whether you care about it or not.
Sir Trevor McDonald is there watching so he must be enjoying it - ha ha ha ha.
