WI take heart. Mighty Australia lost an ODI and it looks as if it was a fairly easy victory by Sri Lanka.

I don't know half of those Australian players.

The bowlers did the trick for SL. is the WI bowling attack lead by Sammy capable to do the same to the Aussies?

If the WI pick the right bowlers they could pose some problems for Australia.

More worrying is the batting.

true, I'm concerned in the batting as well ... I don't know if WI are capable to bat out the allotted overs. However, bowling did the trick setting up SL...

Not really. The prognosis is that WI will venture to Australia and get their arses handed to them on a plattter.

SL had this happen in the tests but here they pop up and get an ODI win.

All 3 formats are different and Australia are not unbeatable in ODIs even though they have the "adavantage" of playing at home. It seems they are resting a few players.

Australian squad for third and fourth Commonwealth Bank Series ODIs v Sri Lanka

The Cricket Australia (CA) National Selection Panel (NSP) has today announced a 12-player squad for the third and fourth Commonwealth Bank Series matches against Sri Lanka on 18 January at the Gabba and 20 January at the SCG.

The Australian squad for the third and fourth matches is:
Michael Clarke (Capt)
George Bailey
Xavier Doherty
Moises Henriques
Phillip Hughes
David Hussey
Mitchell Johnson
Glenn Maxwell
Clint McKay
Mitchell Starc
Matthew Wade
David Warner

Commenting on the squad, National Selector John Inverarity said: “Changes to the squad that played the first two matches of the Series are the return of Michael Clarke, David Warner and Matthew Wade, after having a break. Moises Henriques also comes into the squad as a genuine all-rounder whose bowling will be suited to conditions often found at the Gabba.

“Moises is a young man who has shown promise for some years with both the bat and the ball. This will be an opportunity for him to impress as we look for a good seam bowling all-rounder.”

Meanwhile, Steve Rixon will take over the Head Coach’s role for the third Commonwealth Bank Series match in Brisbane while Mickey Arthur returns home to spend some time with his family. Arthur will re-join the squad in Sydney on Saturday.

The squad will assemble in Brisbane on 15 January ahead of the third Commonwealth Bank Series match against Sri Lanka at the Gabba on Friday 18 January.

Could be. Seems to me that Australia are taking the opportunity to rotate and bring in youngsters.

Would not surprise me if we go with the same tired attack of Rampaul, Sammy, Fidel, Russell, Roach and play the same eleven in every game in a desperate bid to win.
