In Path of Exile 2, getting ready for the endgame means having strong gear—and to make that gear, you need lots of materials. These materials come in the form of different types of PoE 2 currency. Each kind of currency has a special job, and gathering the right ones early can help you build powerful weapons, armor, and accessories later in the game. Let’s explore how to collect and use material-gathering currencies to prepare for endgame crafting.

One of the best things you can do as you level up is to start saving useful orbs. For example, Orbs of Transmutation and Orbs of Augmentation may seem simple, but they help you craft magic items by adding useful mods. Early on, use these orbs to create blue (magic) items that give you boosts in damage, life, or resistances. When you find a white item with a good base, use a Transmutation Orb first to add one bonus. Then, add another using an Augmentation Orb. This method is simple but very helpful. Don’t waste them, though—save some for better gear later!

As you go deeper into the game, you’ll start finding Orbs of Alchemy, Chaos Orbs, and Essences. These are even more important. Orbs of Alchemy turn a white item into a rare item with several mods, which is useful when you have a high-level base item. Chaos Orbs let you re-roll the mods on a rare item. If your item has bad stats, use a Chaos Orb to change them. These orbs are key PoE 2 currency for advanced crafting, and they become very valuable in the endgame.

Another great currency to gather is Essences. You get them from frozen monsters that crack open when you fight them. Each Essence gives a guaranteed mod, so you can use them to make sure your item gets something useful—like more life, cold damage, or faster movement. Save these for later when you want to craft rare gear with specific bonuses.

Now let’s talk about Fusing Orbs and Jeweller’s Orbs. These aren’t for adding bonuses, but for fixing sockets and links on your gear. You’ll need linked sockets to use powerful skill combos. Start collecting them early, so you’re not stuck with bad socket setups when you reach the maps.

Here’s a good farming tip: when you’re running through zones or maps, always pick up rare items. Even if you don’t use them, selling them to vendors gives you currency shards. Over time, shards turn into full orbs. This way, you slowly build up your crafting stash just by playing the game normally. You can also run Delve, Heist, or Expedition content if you want even more loot and crafting materials.

Don’t forget to use your crafting bench at your hideout. It lets you add special mods to gear using your PoE 2 currency. Before using high-tier orbs like Exalted Orbs or Divine Orbs, try practicing on lower gear to understand how crafting works. The more you practice, the better your endgame crafting will be.

If you ever feel like you don’t have enough orbs, it’s okay to buy PoE 2 currency from trusted shops. Many players choose to buy PoE 2 currency to speed up crafting, especially when time is short. A good place to buy safe and fast is U4GM, where you can find fair prices and quick delivery.

In short, preparing for endgame crafting means collecting the right currencies early and using them smartly. Pick up everything, save your valuable orbs, and learn which ones help with damage, defense, sockets, and links. By the time you reach the endgame, you’ll have a full toolkit ready to craft powerful gear that can carry you through the hardest content.
