Has Gayle lost his edge?

Why wasn't he offered a county contract for T20? As we see Pollard, Bravo and Smith were all given contracts... Is the captaincy affecting his performance or he is just all washed up? Why the Jamaicans snub him and give the captaincy to Lambert? Why is he holding onto the WI captaincy? He can't see what is coming?
