Australia wins 1st T20 v England by 39 runs

Australia had defeated England by 39 runs in the first T20 International played tonight at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton thanks to a record 156 to opener Aaron Finch.
Finch set Australia’s innings ablaze with a devastating knock of 156 from just 63 balls, including 11 fours and 14 towering sixes, setting up Australia’s huge total of 6-248. Shane Watson chipped in with 37, while Shaun Marsh made 28.
In reply, England pushed hard but fell 39 short to be 6-209 after their 20 overs. Mitch Johnson and Josh Hazlewood took two wickets each.
Australia will travel to Newcastle tomorrow ahead of the 2nd T20 International against England on Saturday at Durham ICG.
Steve Smith to return to Australia
Cricket Australia (CA) also advised today that Steve Smith is returning to Australia tonight.
Smith sustained a very minor left quad strain at training on Wednesday and after a demanding Ashes Series the NSP has decided it is best for him to return to Australia.
The NSP has advised that no replacement player will be added to the squad.
