"Cricket began its tributes to Nelson Mandela, who died on Thursday night, with minute's silences at Adelaide and Dunedin while Cricket South Africa offered their first reaction over Twitter."

I have never imagined that the dismantling of apartheid and it's mechanism's would be anything other than a long, drawnout and intricately messy affair.
That, is with the benefit of hindsight, at the time I was amazed at how easily the apartheid regime fell and the " bad guy " could then assume the role of " conquering hero ", like in the movies.
If I were a politician I would pick a side to suit my position (based on those links). As a member of the greater collective, I simply observe the positive effect this man had on billions of culturally different people who never even met him, as it's undeniable.
I think we do a disservice to complex issue's when we boil them down to simply good and bad. If we are to examine complicity in oppression then we must also examine opposition to oppression, equally. Two different sides of the same coin, imho.

I am not a fan of Nelson Mandella...have not been since 1995.
I consider Mandella a traitor, a man who wasted more than a generation of South Africa's youth, a prevaricator of excellence, a destructive man for whom I hope the ancestors were waiting patiently, with rod and punishment for a long time in hell.. Mandella, the man ultimately who stood between the people and revolutionary change in Africa
I have no love for Mandella..whatever good he may done totally subsumed in his ultimate betrayal of his people

If you actually read the material to which attention was drawn in the articles mentioned earlier in this thread, you might come to the conclusion that apartheid has been anything but "dismantled".Gils wrote:I have never imagined that the dismantling of apartheid and it's mechanism's would be anything other than a long, drawnout and intricately messy affair ...

why..because rod of punishment in hell and ancestors are oxymoronishGils wrote:with rod and punishment for a long time in hell
Stop following what your former slave master taught you and go learn your roots and culture, in a hurry. The indiscriminate imitation of such a faulty concept will not make you English .
what if had used an amalgam of Klin'on hell and heaven and western jewish crackpottery from the garden of eden
to fuse founding fantasies is usually very funny, no less so in this case. why aren't you laffing instead of bitching
