TTCB launch new cricket academy

It will cover a three month training session from September 11 to December 5 and is estimated to cost about $500,000 according to TTCB management committee member Suruj Ragoonath, a former national captain.

Areas to be covered by over one dozen facilitators are — cricket, media management, physical preparation, our cricket heritage, concentration time, money management, environmental awareness, nutrition and hydration, recreation, video taping and computer literacy.

Among the facilitators will be Kelvin Williams, Gordon Greenidge, Tony Gray, Robert Mahabir, Suruj Ragoonath, Vaneisha Baksh and Garth Watley.

Players who graduated from the previous Academy include Ravi Rampaul, Denesh Ramdin, Lendl Simmons, Sherwin Ganga and Kieron Pollard.
