At the Dusseldorf indoor meet, the old man of track won the men's 60m final in 6.51, ahead of younger contenders James Dasaolu of GB (6.52) and American Mike Rodgers (6.58). The women's equivalent was won by the well-built Saffer Carina Horn in 7.21, while the BVI's Taheisha Harrigan was sixth (7.30) and Jamaican Aleen Bailey seventh (7.31).

Dina Asher-Smith of the GB won the women's 60m at Karlsruhe in an impressive world-leading 7.12, ahead of American Jessica Young (7.18), Verena Motorsailer of Germany (7.22), Mujinda Kambudji of Switzerland and Jamaican Aleen Bailey (7.22 each).

'Former world outdoor champion Kim Collins, who celebrates his 39th birthday in April, won the men's 60m in a world-leading time of 6.48 seconds at the Russian Winter Indoor Meet yesterday. The evergreen St Kitts and Nevis sprinter had already clocked 6.52 seconds in winning the Dusseldorf event on Thursday. "I'll start nine more events this season," Collins, the 2003 world champion, said. "It's a serious challenge for me and I'm taking every new start as if it's my last." American Mike Rodgers, who served a nine-month doping ban in 2011 and was third in Germany behind Collins, was second in a time of 6.56sec. Yunier Perez of Cuba came third, 0.05sec further back.'

At the American New Ballance meet, Trell Kimmons of the US won the men's 60m in 6.51, ahead of Jamaica's Asafa Powell (6.52).

Trinidad's Michelle-Lee Ahye won the women's equivalent in 7.15, ahead of American Tianna Bartoletta (7.19).

The USA's Chaunte Lowe won the women's high jump with a leap of 1.88, ahead of Antigua's Priscilla Fredrick (1.84).

At the Birmingham Indoor meet yesterday, after Antigua's Daniel Bailey and American Mike Rodgers false-started and were disqualified, the evergreen Kim Collins of St Kitts-Nevis won the men's 60m in 6.50, ahead of Britain's CJ Ujah (6.55), and American Trell Kimmons (6.56).

Murielle Ahoure of the Ivory Coast won the women's 60m with 7.10, ahead of Tianna Bartoletta of the US (7.15) and Trinidad's Michelle-Lee Ahye (7.17).

Trinidad-born Brit Nigel Levine won the men's 400m in 46.43, ahead of another Brit, Jarryd Dunn (46.67), American Bershawn Jackson (46.98) and Trinidadian Jarrin Solomon (47.04).
