It was great to see Trecia Smith jumping again, after an injury-plagued season....

The UK-based Jamaican won the triple jump with 14.19, to follow up her gold in the Melbourne Games in 2006, while Trinidad's Ayanna Alexander came second to make it a Caribbean 1-2.

And after four events in the heptathlon, it's looking interesting:

1) Zulinka (Canada) 3658
2) Peaches Roach (Jamaica) 3603
3) Louise Hazel (ENg) 3597

Roach finished fourth in the heptathlon....

Caribbean athletes have done well at the high jump, haven't they?

Bahamians Donald Thomas (2.32) and Trevor Barry (2.21) took gold and silver in the men's high jump, while Sheree Thomas of Jamaica came second in the women's equivalent, with Lavern Spencer of St Lucia third.

Trinidadian athletes took home silvers in the women's shot putt and long jump.
