And on to the Zurich Diamond League meet yesterday....
The line up was almost the same as in Moscow, and the result was almost the same too. Jamaican superstar won the men's 100m in 9.90, this time with his compatriot Nickel Ashmeade second in 9.94, and American Justin Gatlin third in 9.96. Two more Jamaicans, Nesta Carter (10.01) and Kemar Bailey-Cole (10.02) came sixth and seventh, while Britain's Adam Gemeli was seventh in 10.06.
Britain's Anguilla-born Shara Proctor won the women's long jump with a leap of 6.88, while Jamaican Shelly-Ann Fraser won the women's 200m in 22.41, while Murielle Ahoure of the Ivory Coast was a distant second in 22.66. The women's 400m hurdles was won by the unbeaten Czech Zuzanna Hejnova in 53.33 ahead of Jamaica's Kaliese Spence (54.22).
Lashawn Merritt of the US won the men's 400m in 44.14, ahead of Grenada's Kirani James (44.32) to end the season in the more dominant position in that two-man rivalry.
